James has an extensive background in audio and video production, backed by a Bachelor's degree in Music Theory and Technical Application. An accomplished multi-instrumentalist, he began his musical journey at the age of four, recorded his first album at 19, and hit the road for touring by 22. As a BMI-registered music publisher and Dante Certified audio professional, James has remained deeply embedded in the industry for over 35 years, collaborating with many of the biggest stars of the 80s and `90s.
With a strong technical background, James became an essential resource for less tech-savvy musicians, particularly during the pandemic when many artists struggled without their usual staff. His expertise extends beyond music; he was a pioneer in online audio streaming, launching InterNet Rock Club in the early 2000s. Around the same time, he helped bring Foundations Forum live from Hollywood, CA, with the simulcast.
James has been producing videos since the 90s, owning and operating a 6,000 sq. ft. sound stage in Yorba Linda, California. There, he created high-quality, multi-camera live and CG music videos, staying at the forefront of evolving video technology. He worked through the industry's shift from linear tape-based systems to digital formats like CD and DVD.
His contributions extend to the television and movie industries, where he has provided video production services for various projects, particularly pilot episodes. As smaller companies offer a more cost-effective way to refine new productions, James' expertise has been in high demand for developing and perfecting early-stage projects.
One of his most ambitious recent projects was a music video for his cover of Turn Up The Radio, featuring numerous rock legends, including the lead guitarist of Autograph. The project presented a unique challenge, syncing 25 performers from across the globe to a single track. The final mix and a cameo appearance by Steve Brown of TRIXTER and Def Leppard added an extra layer of authenticity and excitement to the production.
Take a look. We hope you enjoy the final result!
